The latest outbursts from Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantekyie suggests that division is imminent if key members of the FA continue to butt heads.

Nyantekyie addressed the Congress, stressing the issue of tension is a "self-created problem for individuals and insisted that if you lose an election, it doesn't mean you should kick against everything the incumbent does."

The president's threat fuelled rumours of a split, but he claims that "if somebody has antagonism deep rooted in him, then it is his own problem."

He also warned that the GFA will be forced to seek legal redress after the state-owned Graphic Sports claimed in an editorial that Congress was a rubber stamp that will endorse whatever the president comes up with.
Nyantekyie added: "Newspapers have a say in the development of football, but to describe this congress as a rubber stamp is not fair.

"It is an issue we have to raise with the executive committee and the National Media Commission.
"I do not wish that this association engages in any legal wrangle with a media house, but if we are stretched to unbearable limit, we may not have an option but to do that," he concluded.
