Real Madrid playmaker, Kaka, has tipped Barcelona and Argentina superstar, Lionel Messi to bag all the major individual accolades this year, including the prestigious FIFA World Player of the Year. Messi, 23, was voted the Onze Mondial European Footballer of the Year on Monday night to become only the third Argentine to pick up the Onze d’Or after Mario Kempes and Diego Maradona respectively.

He also picked up the UEFA Club Footballer and Forward of the Year, as well as the Trofeo Alfredo Di Stefano as he continues a clean sweep of individual accolades on the back of a scintillating season with La Blaugrana having netted 38 goals in 51 appearances.

Witnessing his exploits, fellow South Americna, Kaka believes that Messi will also bag the much coveted FIFA World Player of the Year when the results are announced in December 21.
"I think it is probably because Messi won everything with Barcelona last year," the Brazilian told Spanish sports journal, Marca.

Kaka, 28, won the same crown in 2007 and affirmed the criteria needed to bag football's most prized individual honour as well as highlighting his own ambitions for the new campaign.
"You must have a good year with your club and national team. Next year, it will be chosen from those who do well at the World Cup," he said.
"My goal is that Brazil finishes as champions and then let's think about individual awards."
