THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that a total number of 16,723 personnel would participate in the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The Commission also said it would publish the list of nominated candidates and the official register of voters in the state on Monday.
The publication, according to the electoral body, is in compliance with relevant sections of the Electoral Act.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Mr Segun Agbaje, said the action was in line with Section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.
Giving a breakdown of the 16,723 personnel to participate in the exercise, Agbaje explained that one Returning Officer, 18 Local Government Collation Officers, 203 Registration Area Collation Officers, 301 Supervisory Presiding Officers 3,010 Presiding Officers and 11,103 Assistant Presiding Officers (I, II and III) are needed for the election.
Others are 1,321 Assistant Presiding Officers, 621 Reserve Assistant Presiding Officers, 19 Local Government Area Supervisors and 126 Registration Area Cluster Supervisors.
Ondo state is made up of 18 Local Government Areas, 203 registration centres and 3,010 polling units.
