Two men who allegedly stole two big boilers worth N200,000 from UNO Foods Ltd, were on Thursday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The defendants- Aderibigbe Adeyemi,31, and Godwin Umezuriuke,19, both residents of Iju Ishaga Area of Lagos, are facing a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.

The prosecutor, Insp. Mathew Akhaluode, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 18, at UNO Foods Ltd. at Iju Ishaga, Lagos.

He said that Umezuriuke, a gateman at UNO Foods, and Adeyemi, a manager at an event centre close to the company, conspired to steal two `boiler motors’ worth N200,000.

The prosecutor said that the complainant claimed that one of the company’s employees saw the gateman entering the event centre with a wheelbarrow containing the items.
He explained that Adeyemi allowed Umezuriuke to enter the premises of his event centre knowing that he was carrying stolen goods.

“When the complainant confronted the gateman and Adeyemi about the missing boiler motors, the defendants denied knowing anything about them.
