Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Zone 2, Lagos comprising, Lagos and Ogun states, Mr Adeyinka Bode Adeleke, said the zone arrested 20 suspected armed robbers, fraudsters, murderers and kidnappers, recovering arms and ammunition from their hideouts.

He said: “The zone has done a brilliant job by checkmating criminals.

The operatives were able to arrest 10 suspected armed robbers in different parts of Lagos. Some escaped to neighbouring states.

“The Commander of ALG Monitoring Unit, CSP U.B.A. Adam, with his team dealt a big blow to fraudsters who duped innocent people. Six suspects were arrested and charged to court. They arrested another five suspected armed robbers who made several attempts to rob victims in traffic and recovered weapons from them.

“I have directed the two commissioners of police to be vigilant and constantly patrol identified hotspots. Every nook and cranny should be combed to catch the hoodlums unaware.”

He charged the officers and men to be ready to serve their fatherland and be security conscious: “They should rise to the task.”
