Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, has assured that the 2018 would impact on the lives of Nigerians.

Udoma added that as soon as President Buhari signs the budget into law, efforts would be intensified to ensure that Nigerians feel the pulse of economy.

Udoma disclosed this on Channels TV Sunrise Daily programme, monitored on Monday, in Abuja.

According to Udoma: “We just received the budget and we are going through it and when we finish, we will be able to advise Mr. President.

” But once it is sighed into law we will role out striaght away; the Ministry of Finance is already setting aside funds so that we won’t waste time. The budget is already going into June and so we need to show serious impact before the end of the year,” Udoma said.

On the Economic and Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP), Udoma said  effort would be intensified for the full implementation of the outcome.

“The Focus Labs is about the contribution of the private sector.

“Before the public and private sectors were competing; we have bridge the gap ensuring them that we have a common purpose. Because when the private sector grows, we get more money.”

He also stated that the government would try its best not to get distracted by the elections, even as he appealed to Nigerians to give the administration a little time to perfect its plan.

“We have gotten inflation down to single digit, it has been going down but we are working hard.

“I will appeal to Nigerians to give us a little time at l least four years because things are moving in the right direction. I can assure you that by the end of the year, things will get even better.

“We are mindful of the security issues which we are tackling as well,” Udoma added.
