The leadership of New New Nigeria (ANN) has categorically stated that Mr Fela Durotoye remains the party candidate ahead of the 2019 general election.

ANN Chairman, Emmanuel Daina, who emphasised this yesterday in Abuja decried that an aspirant, Gbenga Kashim who failed to clinched the party’s ticket, has embarked on a media campaign to bully and smear his image and the party.

ANN held its presidential primaries on September, 29, which produced motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye as its candidate.

His words: “The party knows who its candidate is. And the person is Fela Durotoye. Let me set the record straight because of what has been put up in the media by a group of renegades of this party.

This party believes in integrity and what we have seen play out is a situation where a person who is held bent on having us do things differently.

“I recalled that one of the presidential aspirants in the person of Gbenga Olawepo-Kashim tried to get me the chairman and the National Working Committee to move the date of our primaries.

“We had given INEC 21 days notice and the party and every aspirants was aware of the date. We didn’t think they was any intend and purpose for us to move it.

“These forces that are working in connivance with the former party chairman who, I think has completely deviated from the focus. This individual believes he can bully me the the NWC because he has deep pocket” he added.

“May I remind us that this party was formed by a group of technocrats who thought that they needed to see a new Nigeria.”

He lamented the right rate of vote, maintaining that the party is diametrically oppose to such menace.

Meanwhile, Olawepo-Kashim was not readily available for comments.
