….Say, ‘His criticisms are issues-based’

A group, the Northern Youth Group (NYG), on Thursday, declared Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, as their presidential candidate come 2019.

The group, which made their intention known while briefing newsmen at the secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State council said, they saw in Governor Fayose a man that would save Nigeria at this crucial time.

Co-chairman of the group, Musa Tukur Gombe, told newsmen that the NYG was not interested in which zone or region produces Nigerian president, but that they believed in the unity of the country as being displayed by the Ekiti State governor.

According to him, “Our mission here this morning is simple. We have come to declare our support for Chief Ayodele Fayose as our presidential candidate come 2017 Insha Allah.

“We know that the incumbent President is from the North but that should not stop any other Nigerian who has the love of the country at heart not to make his ambition known and seek support from his fellow men.

“In Fayose, we see vision, Focus and principles that can help this country a great deal. So, we really need to do more to help Fayose project what is embed in him to realise his dream in 2019.

“Though we have not met before, but we have heard him talking, criticising this government base on issues and not personality or propaganda. That is why it is difficult for anyone to accuse him. He has the right to pour his mind in any burning national issues from his own perspective with facts and figures.

“Like I said earlier, we need to talk about Nigeria and not the region we are coming from. President Muhammadu Buhari is today our president and not the president of Katsina or north or Fulani and that is the eye with which we look at Fayose.

“Now if we put all these and what have you together, it is clear, the man Fayose know what he’s doing and he should be supported to help us wake up from dreaming to actualising the dream as a people and as a country. That is why we are declaring our support for him”.
