Women have been called upon to support fellow women in politics, as this is one of the ways by which they can be heard by the society.

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), in Ogun State, Eniola Otasanya-Martins, made the call while speaking on the challenges and roles of women in the society.

According to her, women as strong pillars in the home front are pivotal to the nation’s development, noting “they must be supported to be able to play their roles well, as wives and mothers”.

“Women go through a lot in taking care of their children and husbands, while they still need to work and fulfill other responsibilities. It is then necessary for the menfolk and government to specially protect women towards bringing out the best in them,” she added.

Otasanya-Martins observed that as a mother, she has understanding of the importance of good health, security, quality education and other needs of Ogun State people, hence her interest to serve on the platform of a new and radical political party, to bring about the needed changes in the state.

The governorship candidate, however, stressed that women should always be ready to support their counterparts in politics.

She also advised them to participate fully in the electoral processes as the 2019 elections draw near, admonishing them to shun money politics and vote on the basis of credibility in the 2019 polls, if they want a better society.
