Members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State are working against victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 governorship election.

The stakeholders, worried about the APC’s growing popularity in the state, resolved during a meeting at endeavour to work harder, to stop the party.

They also resolved to embark on one-on-one campaign, even though the election is still over a year away, as a measure to retain the governorship.

A leader of the party in the locality, Paul Oweh thanked PDP faithful in the area for their support since 1999 and urged them to remain united ahead of the 2019 general election.

Oweh, a national commissioner representing South-South in the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), assured the people that the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to their door step.

He urged aspirants in the forthcoming local government elections to sell themselves to the people as there will be free and fair primaries, adding that the party will adopt option A-4 ballot system where there is no consensus.

Chairman of the party in the council area, Godwin Ogorugba charged PDP loyalists to support the state government and party leaders to maintain the winning streak.

Also, Vice Chairman of  the council, Anthony Odhe said the people in the locality will not relent in their support for Okowa.
