Addressing members, Chief Eneukwu said with the number and calibre of politicians from the state who are now in APC, they are set to win every election in Enugu State.

“We’re in opposition now, but we are going to take over. We must make up our mind to take over Enugu in 2019,” he said, advising members of the party in the state to begin to harmoniously work together as one family and stop suspecting one another.

He said the caucus meeting was organised to look at the progress they have made as a party, saying the time has come for them to match their words with action.

“Caucus meeting is strategic because it’s where strategies  are brought out, all of us must wear our thinking cap to achieve success, “ Eneukwu said.

Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting, the state chairman, Dr Nwoye said the caucus meeting was highly successful as two committees were set up to achieve the party’s goals.

“The major agreement we had today is that APC in Enugu State is ready to participate in the local government election, when the timetable for the election is released.

“The issue of whether Enugu APC will go into that election has been resolved today and if the ruling party in the state honestly decides they want to hold a local government election through a legitimate process by announcing the timetable and other things, we are ready.

“To that effect, the Enugu APC Caucus resolved to form a local government election committee headed by the former speaker, Eugene Odoh and former ENSIEC chairman, Dr. Boniface Ene as secretary, to put our house together,” the chairman said.

Nwoye also said they formed a reconciliation committee to look into the issues of people who are aggrieved in the three sanatoriaI zones, but added that nothing would be done in those cases that had gone through the constitutional processes of the party.

According to him, the reconciliation committee has as chairman, Group Capt Oji (retd), adding that the resolutions of the caucus would, however, be sent to the State Executive Committee  (SEC) of the party for ratification after the holidays.

He maintained that APC was ready to take over Enugu State, insisting that there was no going back on the resolve.

“My brothers and sisters, let’s get ready to take over Enugu State Government House in 2019. Let us remain focused and disciplined party members, “ he advised.

Members of the state caucus, an advisory organ of the party, who attended the meeting included former governor Sullivan Chime; former military administrator of Gombe State, Group Capt. Jeo Oji; Nigeria’s ambassador to India, General Chris Eze (retd); APC BoT member, JOJ Okoloagu; APC National Vice Chairman, South-East, Chief Emma Eneukwu; former Speaker of Enugu House of Assembly, Eugene Odoh; Director General of Voice of Nigeria  (VON), Chief Osita Okechukwu; state Chairman of the party, Dr Ben Nwoye; former PDP national secretary, Chief Rex Onyeabor; transport moguls, Dr Sam Onyishi and Chief Onyemauche Nnamani, among others.
