Former chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area, Chief Oliver Egeonu, has urged the people of Abia North to re-elect Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to the Senate, come February 25.

Egeonu said his appeal stemmed from Kalu’s overwhelming performance in less than four years as the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District.

He described Kalu’s representation of Abia North in the Senate as the best in the history of Abia State.

Speaking when Kalu visited the area, the Umuchieze-born politician said re-electing Kalu, would bring more development to the district.

He lauded Kalu for attracting quality projects like rural roads, installation of solar street lights, sinking of boreholes, renovation of schools and health centres, youths and women empowerment, scholarships to Abia North students to study Medicine and Surgery in South America, Agricultural grants and many more.

He appealed to Kalu’s opponents to withdraw from the senatorial race and join hands with Kalu for the development of the senatorial district and Abia State in general.

Kalu who was on campaign tour of the area, in his remarks said he was going back to Abuja to do “what only Orji Uzor Kalu can do.”

The former governor promised to continue taking measures that will improve the lots of his people and provide opportunities that will engender human capital development for the sustainable growth of Abia North Senatorial District, Abia State and Nigeria in general.

He described the numerous projects he attracted and executed as part of measures put in place to absorb the teeming youths of Abia North, Abia State and Nigeria in general and bringing economic prosperity to the people.

Kalu promised more development projects in the senatorial district, saying: “Development is a continuous process; I will do more for Abia North and Abia State in general if I am re-elected in 2023.”
