From Ahmed Abubakar, Dutse

Residents of Dutse were amazed to wake-up yesterday to see the emergence of posters of Kogi state governor Mr Yahaya Bello which flooded the state capital of Jigawa state.

The posters, with inscription Yahaya Bello for president, ‘for a generational change’ among others has stirred confusion within the state polity as residents were seen discussing in groups about the development.

Several of the posters have been displayed at various roundabouts in the state capital while many were seen being removed by workers under the State Environmental Agency.

The posters are coming barely weeks after the Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar warned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of wrong doings from within the party ranks.

Governor Yahaya Bello who is an APC member from Kogi state is believed to have the backing of many youths coalition groups that also want to cash on the membership registration exercise of the party.

When contacted the state APC chairman Alhaji Muhammed Umar Dikuma said it is not for him to determine who becomes an aspirant of the party’s presidency. Adding that, what is before us now is to commence the registration of our members.
