Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, has vowed to always stand for truth and fairness in reconciling stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 election.

Jang, in a press statement signed by his Media Consultant, Clinton Garuba, while reacting to a statement made by a group named “Plateau for Atiku” and signed by its Protem Secretary, Prof. Shedrach Best, who claimed to have disowned Jang for aligning with Governor Nyesom Wike in a push for the resignation of the National Chairman of PDP, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu.

He reaffirmed his commitment to always stand by the truth and fairness in the running of the PDP in the interest of every segment of the country.

The statement noted: “Subverting the constitution of the party’s long-held tradition of inclusiveness is a sure way to derail the party from getting back to its winning ways. Senator Jang and the real stakeholders in the party are not surprised that such a publication is authored by Prof. Shedrack Best who is still aggrieved and sulking over his loss in the recently held primaries of the PDP in Plateau State.

The statement also said Jang had, during his tenure as governor, challenged a sitting president in court for the purpose of fairness, and would continue to work for the unity of PDP and Nigeria.

Jang insisted that “those who have the interest of the party at heart should insist that the right thing is done in order for the PDP to take its rightful place of pride as the only truly democratic party. Senator Jang and others have made their call loud enough for anyone who wants to listen and the call still remains that in the interest of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu should resign as the national chairman of the PDP.”
