As political parties kick- off campaign for the 2023 general election, Leadership of National Rescue Movement NRM, has revealed that the party will kick-start National wide rallies and campaigns early November.
National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Isaac Chigozie Udeh in an exclusive interview with The Sun, said that the party is poised to rewrite wrongs of infamous People’s Democratic party PDP which was later baptized APC.
The Chairman, said, that the party will base it’s campaign on sensitizing Nigerians on the need to librate themselves from the shackles of PDP and APC political malevolence for the past 20 years
Ambassador Isaac, said, “the name given to form this party, was prophetic one, which was formed out of foresightednes of the founding fathers. We have seen where the country is going and we chose to form the party to rescue the country. And if you take a look at the situation in the country and where the country is heading to, it makes everyone across party divide talk about how to rescue the Nation.
He said, that even other parties that messed up the economy of Nigeria for the past 20 years are also clamouring for the rescue of the same economy they destroyed.
Ambassador Isaac further, said, “you can see that APC and PDP, is talking about rescuing Nigeria. These are some of the things they failed to achieve when a barrel of oil was sold at 120 dollars and for every Nigeria to benefit from excess crude. I am telling you this because PDP metamorphosed into APC because the different between them is like mentioning 12 and one dozen”.
On the leadership strategies, he informed that the party has studied the problems of Nigeria and has decided to adopt a grass root approach, which is perfect example of what NRM stands for. He said that it is a party formed from the structure of polling units across the the 774 local governments of the country.
Ambassador Isaac, said, “Like I said before, we studied the country and know the problems and how to solve it. The party members across the country met and decided that we should bring basic need more especially food back to the tables of Nigerians because there is endemic hunger in the land. It is obvious that PDP and APC deliberately withdrew food from the tables of every Nigerians. We shall do it by making sure that all the 774 local government areas has one or two industries to enforce compliant to job Creation”.
On the issue of security, he informed that the party has a strategy on how to tackle insecurity in the country, adding that a team of experts have been sent abroad to understudy other experts on how to handle Nigerian problem. “when we see others go from church to church in the name of campaigning, we had have our strategy, which we may not divulge now. we are also going to address the issue of power, which is quite different from the failure of PDP and APC who sponsors the importation of generators abroad”.
Promising on revitalization of formal education, he stressed the need for increase in teachers welfare, adding that bringing back the collage of education system, will guarantee quality and proper transfer of knowledge to encourage public schools in becoming better than that of private schools.
Meanwhile, the party Chairman, has indicated that the party is actively going into the race for Aso villa with the credibility of it’s Presidential candidate Ambassador Joshua Osakwe.
He however, said that the party is open for alliance with other patriotic political parties, provided power is taken from PDP and APC for enthronement of Democracy and good government.
He also said, that with popularity of the part in Rivers state, North central, South South that the campaign kick off which is yet to be endorsed by the National working committee will ensure victory come 2023.
