Cross River APC, PDP in battle of words ahead of 2023

From Paul Osuyi, Asaba
The chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, Austin Ogbolu has defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) along with five other executive members and their supporters.
Those who defeated with the chairman are Lucky Dikadi, Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President and LGA deputy coordinator; Jude Ezimadu, secretary; Obah Emmanuel, youth leader; Nkechi Ogude, legal adviser; and Austin Chikodi, ex-officio.
The PDP is gloating over the defection, boasting that Ndokwa East which is the local government of APC deputy governorship candidate, Friday Osanebi, was already in it’s kitty.
The PDP claimed that the defected APC executive members and many other leaders of the party in the locality complained that the deputy governorship candidate was not carrying them along.
According to the PDP,  the new members also complained that their welfare was not accommodated in their former party, adding that they were dissatisfied with the way APC was being managed in the state.
But the APC said the members had been suspended indefinitely for alleged anti-party activities.
The opposition party in the state said their suspension would serve as a deterrent to other party members who would want to trade with the party ahead of the fast approaching general elections.
According to the APC, a disciplinary committee would sit to decide the fate of the affected members in the party, insisting that it’s resolve to win the governorship election was not negotiable.
