A subtle campaign for the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to become president in 2023 began in Ibadan and Oyo town in Oyo State, yesterday.

The movement began with visits to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III to seek their royal blessings for the actualisation of the dream.

The team comprised ex-senators and members of the House of Representatives and some serving and former political office holders from differentstates across the six states of South West.

The group under the aegis of South West Agenda 2023 (SWAGA ‘23), a group of rainbow coalition of like-minded politicians was led to the two palaces by former works minister and former spokesperson of the senate, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

Prominent Yoruba leaders on the entourage included Senator Adesoji Akanbi from Oyo State. The Secretary-General of the planning committee is Bosun Oladele, former member of the House of Representatives. Son of a former governor of Lagos State, Kayode Jakande, Jide, and Commissioner for State Audit Service Commission in Lagos State, Kafilat Ogbara.

The entourage also included former federal lawmakers such as Oyetunji Ojo, Rotimi Makinde, Toba Oke,  Gboyega Okegbemi and immediate past Secretary to Ondo State Government, Ifedayo Abegunde.

This is a cleared violation of an electoral law on prescribed timing for political campaign and this offence is punishable so why are these so called jobless group in the name of political commotion violating electoral laws?. Are they not educated to know what is wrong from what is wright?. Why continue assault to Traditional institution in the name of seeking for royal blessing? The barbaric political culture has turned palaces of traditional rulers as sacred place when ever politicians are aspiring for elected offices so how could politicians that has constitutional superior offices turned to traditional rulers that are not recognized by constitution for mockery in the name of royal blessing?. Nigerian political culture only defined its society while its characteristics confirmed that the society is sicked of which democracy is not compatible with this type of society where education failed to heal the societal diseases, religious failed to redeemed the people from devilish attitude, family failed to inculcate disciples and leadership failed to be of good examples. The socio-economy, political and security challenges confronting the country and its often barbaric dimensions always raises questions of leadership that can proffers permanent solution. This leaders tribe, religion and region does not democratically matters, what really matters are His/Her abilities to democratically proffers knowledge based solution to security, economy and political problems where Nigerians would also demonstrate senses of good democratic followers by giving maximum cooperation on any economy and security policies without been undemocratically labelled the leader on the ground religion, tribe and region because it is a leader produced by their hand democratically. Undoubtedly Bola Tinubu can not withstand the current challenges of the country nor possess the leadership qualities that proffers knowledge based solution nor has the political charisma that can unite people
