From Noah Ebije, Kaduna
Senator representing Kaduna Central and Kaduna State governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uba Sani has said that, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the most qualified of all those presently seeking to be President of Nigeria.
Senator Sani said, while most of the other presidential candidates were military apologists, Tinubu fought and paid his dues for the enthronement of the Democracy the country is currently enjoying.
He however said that, it is the turn of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be Nigeria’s President, as he is all it takes to propel the country to greatness.
He stated this in Kaduna on Sunday while receiving Award of Excellence conferred on him by The Association of Lagos State Indigenes in Kaduna State, during the ‘Isokan Omo Eko Day’.
According to the APC Governorship Candidate, “You cannot compare Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with other Presidential Candidates, because they were nowhere to be found when Asiwaju and people like us were fight for the enthronement of the democracy we now enjoy today.
“I have known Asiwaju since 1992. We backed friends because we share same convictions; the convictions for rule of law, conviction for justice and freedom of Nigerians. We fought together for enthronement of democracy in Nigeria.
“Nigerians should not forget that, the reason we can gather here and associate freely is because of the sacrifices of some people. That is why I am calling on Nigerians to support Asiwaju Tinubu to be President of Nigeria. Of all those contesting, Tinubu is the most qualified.
“Most of the other Presidential Candidates were military apologists when Tinubu was fighting for democracy, they never supported rule of law, equality and justice. Asiwaju did not only fight for democracy, he paid his dues, in fact some of us were detained and persecuted.
“Today, we have the democracy the we fought for, I believe it is the turn of Asiwaju to be President of our great nation, because he has what it takes to move Nigeria to a greater height. None of the other candidates has his record of achievements and we believe he will perform excellently well,” he said.
Earlier in his welcome address, Acting Chairman, Association of Lagos State Indigenes, Mr Sheriff Olutusin said, Tinubu built infrastructures, educated people, transformed waterways into cities and expanded the revenue of Lagos from N600 million to N50billion among others, “and he can replicate all these and more if given the chance to lead Nigeria”.
Highlights of the occasion was display of Eyo dance and award of other distinguished personalities including, son of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Hon. Bello El-Rufai, Retired CSP Idiyat Olugbeja, Alhaji Pa Lander Akanbi Lawal and Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Imam Shittabey among others.
