From Rose Ejembi, Makurdi

Newly recruited officers and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Benue State have been charged to demonstrate courage and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Philip Okoh gave the charge at the passing out ceremony of the 216 officers and men which held at the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) Square in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital on Thursday.

Okoh while congratulating the new officers and men on their success in the 2019 recruitment, urged them to put in their best in the discharge of their duties at all times.

He commended the Commandant-General of the Abubakar Audi, for ensuring success of the recruitment, selection, training and passing-out parade.

Okoh also applauded the Training Department as well as the instructors for their hardwork and dedication during the training of the recruits.

He noted that the report at his disposal indicated that the recruits went through the mill and had come out refined and disciplined.

On his part, the Commandant-General of the corps expressed the conviction that the recruits were ready to contribute their quota toward the protection of critical national infrastructure and nation’s security.

Also speaking, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Col. Paul Hemba (rtd.) assured that the state would continue to collaborate with security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
