3 Strategies to Leverage Social Media Platforms to Market Your Music, by Nour Khodr

Planning and implementing an effective social media strategy is crucial for everyone who wants to succeed in the social media realm. This becomes even more prudent for those who want to market their music. Social media is a great way to reach out to people and let them know about your talent. Gone are the days when music makers used to go to major record labels and publishers; now it’s all about DUY music tech. With platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, anyone with musical talent is now able to record, release, and also distribute their music.
With the right social media strategy, any person with the right combination of authenticity and talent can become successful. Here are three pro tips shared by Nour Khodr.
Get to Know Your Audience
First things first, a music maker has to know their audience. Nour suggests, “Think about the audience to whom you would like to reach out. Pay special attention to your target audience and likewise target them and spread the word about your music, page, and you. Targeting the right audience will let you grow effectively. We live in a world where anyone can go viral, and someone with talent has better chances of going viral.”
Social Media Consistency
Nour Khodr emphasised on social media consistency. He said, once you market yourself on social media, ensure to be consistent with your content. People who want to market their music need to stay consistent and authentic. Think about who your target audience is, and likewise create the content. If you are a rock artist, you shouldn’t get into content comparing Cardi B and Lil Pump because they have nothing to do with your art. Be honest about your work, show your talent in the right way, and communicate well to resonate with your audience. Once you do, you can start adjusting your content. Talking about current affairs is not bad, but you need to highlight your talent at the beginning of your career rather than getting into trouble.
Provide Value
Facebook videos receive almost 100 million hours of view per day. And platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, IGTV are not left behind either. Nour Khodr thinks that leveraging these platforms is crucial. Visually engaging content is the right way to keep the audiences’ interest intact. You can think of micro-documenting your recording process; you can think of going live to give a gist of what your upcoming music is about, and so on. The crux is to make the content valuable enough for others to see it.
