A 35 year old Chike Ukaegbu, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the Advanced Allied Party (AAP).
He was elected to fly the flag of the recently registered political party at a delegate convention that took place in Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, he thanked the delegates for their trust and believe in him, and assured them of victory at the 2019 presidential polls.
He told them that AAP will leverage on its grassroot structures and its youth base support to mobilize electorates ahead of the polls.
He assured party officials that he will stand by party’s manifesto, as well as its vision to bring socioeconomic growth and development to Nigerians.
He said: “Nigeria is extremely blessed with human and natural resources. Regrettably, it has consistently topped the list of countries with high poverty statistics and it ought not be so.”
He promised to mobilize resourceful and diligent Nigerians across the world to join the course of pulling Nigeria out of dungeon of poverty and underdevelopment.
The party national, Salihu Bultu, in his remarks, said AAP has set a record as first political party in Nigeria to produce the youngest presidential candidate, in the spirit of not-too-young-to-run bill that was recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Bultu who spoke through the party’s north west vice chairman, Salisu Dawaki, said the party was impressed that a Nigerian of 35 years old could aspire to run for the office of Nigerian President amidst fear and complains from people of his age.
He assured the candidate that the party will mobilize its political structures nationwide to support him and ensure that victory is secured in the 2019 presidential elections.
