Four serving commissioners under the incumbent People’s Democratic Party (PDP)- led Sokoto State government will soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has said.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir, Rabe Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto.

The statement said that Senator Wamakko who represents Sokoto North senatorial district spoke when he commissioned the party’s campaign office at the Unguwar Filin ‘Yan Shanu, Sarkin Adar Ward, In Sokoto North local government of the state.

According to him, the names of the potential APC new entrants would soon be unveiled to the people of the state.

He explained that the happy development had soared the love, respect and sustained joy of the people of the state, in all forms, shapes, and strata, they have been invaluably showing to the APC and its candidates, at all levels.

Senator Wamakko further noted that the people of the state had been of happy trooping into the party, especially from the PDP, sequel to its dwindling fortunes and the dearth of popularity.

Commenting on the gubernatorial debate organised by the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Service, Senator averred, “it has shown that our gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Ahmed, Aliyu Sokoto is not a greenhorn and immature politically as being peddled by some people.

“He is fit and capable to hold the office and he will efficiently deliver the needed good governance and democracy dividends to the people of the state.”

The senator, therefore, appealed to the people of the state to massively vote APC candidates, at all levels during the forthcoming general elections.

On his part, Alhaji Ahmed, Aliyu Sokoto promised to consolidate on the achievements of Senator Wamakko when he was the governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.

The statement recalled that the former Information Commissioner, Alhaji Muhammadu, Bello Goronyo, had since defected to the APC.
