Five Commercial Motorcycle riders have been arrested in connection with the killing and setting ablaze a 38-year -old sound Engineer, David Imoh at the Lekki area of Lagos.
The deceased was stoned to death and set ablaze last Thursday.
The suspects were arrested by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID),Panti, of the Lagos state Police Command.
According to a senior police officer,  the force has stepped up manhunt for the sixth suspect who is on the run.
It was gathered that the deceased and his friend, had contracted a rider to take them to a place at Lekki, after closing from work at a night club where they sang
It was also gathered that a minor argument ensued  between the rider and his passengers which eventually resulted into a free for all .
A police source at SCIID, Panti, told Daily Sun that the situation later degenerated as more commercial motorcycle riders also known as Okada riders joined.
The officer said the mob gave David and his friend the beating of their lives, using sticks and other dangerous weapons during  the attack.
“David became unconscious and fell on  the ground. The mob later set his  body on fire before help could come his way” the police said.
Another source said the deceased friend, Phillip, a saxophonist, fled with varying degrees of wounds.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the killing said  four suspects have been arrested.
Hundeyin, said the State Police boss has ordered homicide detectives to step up  manhunt for the fleeing suspects.
“People should  not take laws into their  hands no matter the degree of provocation. A crime has been committed and the police will treat the issue from that premix.
“The sixth member of the gang is on the run and detectives are on his trail. The Command would not tolerate any case of injustice, mob action or murder, no matter the degree of provocation”, he added.
