3 students arrested for rape

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ogun State Police Command, has rounded up over 55 suspected armed robbers, cult members and rapists. It recovered over 20 arms and ammunition.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Illiyasu, disclosed that the SARS Commander, Uba Adams and his operatives arrested a notorious and ex- convict armed robber, Ibrahim, at of Mowe. Ibrahim and his gang inflicted injuries on the head of their victim and dispossessed him of N150.000.00:

“The operatives arrested 15 others in different locations and recovered arms ammunition and charms. SARS operative and policeman attached to Awa-Ijebu got to the scene, arrested notorious Chukwuma while others fled into the bush. Chukwuma confessed to have been terrorizing the area.

“They also stormed the hideout of cultists and arrested 10 suspects who have been terrorising the residents of Mowe, vandalising vehicles and making life uncomfortable for innocent residents.

“Some 17 other suspected cultists in Ijebu-Igbo were equally arrested with weapons such as locally made gun, knifes, charms, bags containing weeds suspected to be Indian hemp. They belong to EYE and AYE cult groups. They were arrested while engaging in supremacy battle.

“Four suspected land grabbers were arrested in the murder of one Sidikat at Imoro via Ogijo at about 9.00 pm. They attacked him with dangerous weapons. The suspects are Adewale, Monday, Mukaila and Shoderinde. We recovered 24 expended and 2 live cartridges. The body of the deceased was deposited at OSUTH, Sagamu for autopsy.

“SARS operatives cracked down on a gang of armed robbers in Owode Ijako in Sango Ota. One Abbey was arrested struggling to snatch a motorcycle from its riders who were shot on the legs. “Detectives arrested a grand pa, Louis, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of two minors aged eight and 10years receptively. He was arrested following the complaints at Ayetoro Police Division. The two victims were lured into his apartment where he carried out the act. The two victims are receiving treatment.

“In another development, three students of Ajagbe High School were arrested for raping a female student of the same school. The father of the victim had complained that her daughter was forcefully dragged into the bush by the suspects where they had her carnal knowledge.

“The suspects are Upoko, Quadri and Aliu believed to be members of secret cult known as Ajagbe Youngest Nation. They have been transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor unit of state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

“All suspects will soon be charged to court.”
