An aspirant to Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency of Enugu State at the National Assembly, Chief Chidi Obetta has promised to offer effective and efficient representation by attracting dividends of democracy to his constituents if elected in 2023 general election.

Obetta, a successful business man made the pledge on Sunday at the Nsukka Local Government secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while declaring his intention to represent his constituents at the National Assembly in 2023.

He assured party officials, delegates and constituents that he has what it takes to represent and attract meaningful development to the constituency.

According to him, “I’m here today to formally inform you about my aspiration to serve the good people of Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

“Be assured that our great party ,the PDP will never regret chosing me to be the candidate to represent my people as accountability, transparency and quality representation will be my watchword.

“My target is to serve through effective and efficient representation and by bringing the dividends of democracy to the people of Nsukka Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency.

“Going to the National Assembly is not only about making laws but also engaging in fruitful deliberations to represent the interests of your constituents.

“I solicit for your support, my dear great party Executives, members and party faithfuls to enable me emerge as the candidate for the 3023 election,” he said.

He also promised to build two Constituency offices in Nsukka and Igbo-Eze South Local Government Areas for easy engagements with his constituents.

“Four years ago, I came here to declare my intention to represent you in the National Assembly. We all toiled to actualize that dream but when the instruction came from the party hierarchy that I should step down, we did not challenge that instruction because we are loyal to the party.

While speaking during the event, the Ibagwa Ani/ Ibagwa Agu/ Okpaligbo/Utogbolo ward chairman of PDP, Stephen Ezema, commended Obetta for providing employment opportunities for the people of the constituents.

He equally described him as a devoted party faithful who has sacrified so much for the growth of PDP, urging the constituents to vote him into power for an all inclusive governance style.

Another party stakeholder in the constituency, Prof. Athanasius Eze, lauded the aspirant’s contribution to the growth of the party in their local government, urging members to pay him back by voting him to power in 2023.

Responding, Mr Fabian Onah, PDP Nsukka LGA Chairman welcomed Obetta to the party office and promised that the party would ensure equal playing ground for all aspirants during and after the primaries for the 2023 general election.

“As a Party official, we are open to all contestants and  would ensure that all candidates are given equal opportunity without any discrimination before and during the party primaries,” he said.

The declaration was attended by PDP wards officials from Nsukka LG, friends, associates and supporters of the aspirant.
