The lifeless and decomposing body of Colonel Samaila Inusa who was found yesterday at about 6.00pm, the Nigerian Army has said.

The Army authorities, in a statement signed by its acting director, public relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said preliminary investigation revealed that “most likely the late senior  officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors.” This, the Army said, was because the body was found already decomposing  around  Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna, Kaduna State.

While it said arrangements were being made to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, the Army also vowed to ensure whoever is behind the abduction and murder is fished out to face the full wrath of the law.

Until his kidnap, Inusa was serving at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry Jaji in Kaduna State.

He was abducted from his car around Kamazo area, near Refinery Junction in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday, March 27.

The abductors intercepted the officer’s personal car, and later dropped off his wife before leaving with him as they travelled along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

The Army had on Sunday, confirmed the abduction of the senior office by gunmen in Kaduna on Saturday night and placed a N1 million reward for anyone who could give information on the whereabouts of the officer.
