Paul Osuyi, Asaba

HRM Sunday Olisewokwu, the Obi of Ogodo Kingdom in Aniocha North local government area of Delta State, has been freed by his abductors.

Obi Olisewokwu, who abducted on Sunday by masked gunmen, was released Tuesday night around Asaba, the state capital.

He suffered injuries around his neck region and is presently receiving treatment at one of the hospitals in Asaba.

Although his abductors demanded a ransom of N15 million as at Monday afternoon, it is, however, yet to be determined if the money was paid to the hostage-takers before his release.

The monarch was abducted on Sunday between the neighbouring communities of Onicha-Olona and Ezi, with two persons accompanying him in his SUV sustaining injuries while resisting his abductors.
