From Chuks Onuoha, Umuahia

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has assured President Muhammadu Buhari of commitment to the anti-corruption war.
An APC chieftain, Chief Ikechi Emenike, said this at a rally organised by members in Umuahia, the Abia State capital to thank God for the president’s safe return
Emenike also said Nigeria’s quest for greatness would have been cut short if anything untoward had happened to president Buhari during his medical vacation in London.
Healso expressed happiness that Buhari returned to Nigeria strong, healthy and ready to fight corruption head-on.
Speaking at the rally with the theme; ‘Abia State For Buhari Group (ASBG)’, Emenike, who was represented by Dr Emmanuel Aguzie Ndukwe, regretted that many people spread rumours that president Buhari was terminally ill and on life-support or that he was brain-dead, and thanked God that none of such rumours came to reality.
He urged Abians to refrain from making hate speeches against anyone for any reason.
Also speaking, Pastor Chigbo Agu said that Nigerians have every reason to thank God for the safe return of the president, and added that those who wished President Buhari dead have beed shamed.
The state coordinator of  ASBG, Engr Chris Okpechi regretted that when Buhari was sick many people wanted him dead, “so that they will continue in their corrupt practises.” He thanked God that such evil wish did not come to pass.
