Abia State Police Commissioner, Mr Leye Oyebade has been honoured for his commitment to community policing and national security. The award was given by the Senate Committee on Police Affairs in collaboration with the Nigerian Media Links.
According to the Senate Committee and Nigeria Media Links, Oyebade was conferred with the award based on his “quality leadership, strategies and notable security reforms in Abia State Police Command.”
According to the two bodies, the award came as a result of the success achieved so far in line with with the determination of the present regime to rid the nation of any form of insecurity and its commitment to ensuring security of lives and property.
“In this light, the Senate Committee on Police Affairs in collaboration with the Nigeria Media Links deem it fit to provide necessary support that will create enabling environment to propel the various security agencies in carrying out their respective duties.”
