Abia State Focal Person of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), Chinenye Nwogu said the state receives N400m and N430m monthly from  Federal Government, for the schools feeding and the N-Power Programmes respectively.

Nwogu who made this known in Umuahia during an event organized by NSIP to thank President Buhari for the introduction of the programmes, said many who would have been poor today, have become millionaires through the programmes.

“What we are doing is to join others across the country to thank Mr. President for his introduction of the Interventionist programmes that have brought succour to many, and made others millionaires”.

He gave kudos to President Muhammadu Buhari for his administration’s Interventionist programmes that were aimed at reducing the sufferings of the less privileged.

Nwogu equally commended the President for the sustenance of the programmes against all odds.

The NSIP Abia Focal Person said it was the high level of transparency the president brought to the Programmes that have sustained them so far.

“Despite the fact that Abia is a PDP state, the President made sure we always get our due and I can tell you Abia ranks amongst the best states in the implementation of the programmes”.

Nwogu also commended the Minister of Humanitarian Services, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and his wife, Nkechi for their supportive roles in the success of the programmes in the state.Nwogu announced that NSIP would soon commence the disbursement of the final phase of the N20,000 grant for women and the vunnerable groups in the state.
