Budding rapper, Michael Egwu with the stage name, Trap Mike has expressed his admiration for Chocolate City Rapper, Blaqbonez and expressed his wish to record a collaboration with the award-winning artiste. 

 

Trap Mike is still savouring the release of his sophomore album ‘Ghost In The Capital’. But when asked to name artistes whose work he admired, his response was emphatic, “Blaqbonez! That guy is lit. I like his sound and I feel we can do something very nice together.”

 

The Abuja-based talent grabbed its own share of airplay on major stations around the city with top tracks such as Walking featuring Barzini and Update featuring Litvybez. In his album, Trap Mike pays homage to the Federal Capital City of Nigeria, Abuja, the city housing Nigeria’s seat of power. The rich influence of Abuja has shaped the Ebonyi State-born singer’s life and influenced his music worldview while growing up and this is very evident in the album.

Trap Mike already plotted the next action that would help move his career forward, “I’m in the process of shooting music videos. I can’t wait to go on TV. Building my fanbase and connecting with them to let them see the face behind the sound is very important for me now. That’s what’s next for me,” said the budding singer.

 

Speaking on the chances of a Nigerian Rapper getting a Grammy Award nomination, he said, “they are not giving us enough attention but then ‘if you are not in the market, market loses you. We cannot really do anything but I’m not satisfied but soon enough, hopefully. Well, it will take a while because You need support from your own and you know, rappers don’t really get so much support because of the nature of the art. This is why most rappers go into singing eventually.
