As the 12th Abuja International Trade Fair organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) kicks off next week, the organisers have urged the Federal Government to give infrastructural development and overhaul a priority.
Director of the chamber, Ms Tonia Shoyale, who addressed the media in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Trade Facilitation, Mr. Olorunmaiye Olawale, on the upcoming event, said one of their mandates were to reposition the manufacturing sector as the country’s engine for growth and a transformation agent since the organised private sector remains a major stakeholder in the sound and economic life of any nation.
According to the Director, many foreign exhibitors have expressed interest and paid to participate, stating that statistics have shown that 80 per cent local participants and 20 per cent foreign exhibitors were coming for the fair.
She disclosed that in all, 35 foreigners would be coming to the fair, which include Ghana, Senegal, Mali, Egypt and Philippines. Others include Korea, Cameroon and Pakistan.
