It was a glitz and glamour moment on Sunday December 3 at the EbonyLife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos, when ‘Scarred’, a new movie jointly produced by Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti and Adeleye Fabusoro, and directed by Tope Alake was premiered. The new flick, Scarred features Jaiye Kuti —as the lead—and another veteran thespian, Tina Mba starring alongside other A-List acts including Jennifer Obodo, Mofe Duncan, Emem Ufot, Baaj Adebule and Chinoso Arubayi.
Speaking at the movie premiere, Jaiye said co-producing the movie wasn’t easy but said she had to give kudos to her partner, Adeleye Fabusoro, and the entire crew for working themselves out to deliver a superb movie. “You can imagine people who bade you goodnight while still on location, come back the following morning to tell you good morning again! That tells you how hard-working we were all through the production. Also playing a lead role in a movie you are producing could be tough. It wasn’t easy at all but thankfully, I have my husband beside me who is always mopping up my lapses wherever they are,” she said.
For Adeleye, there is no gainsaying that producing a big project is not new to him, having handled top notch movies and series including Borokini and Awon Aladun De. But he confessed that this particular one stretched him to bring out his best. At the Resq Promotions-powered premiere of the movie that highlights the danger and the negative influence domestic violence could have on individuals and survivors, were Executive Director of SSAfri Homes and Properties, Mr. Sunday Ayeni; Dr. Awa Ibraheem, and Mr. Dubem Orji, Marketing Manager Hero Lager Beer.
