Mabel Oboh, The African Democratic Congress’ (ADC’s) governorship candidate in the Edo 2020 elections holding Sept. 19 has congratulated the President Mohammadu Buhari administration for adopting community policing at a time when it is most needed in the country against the backdrop of insecurity hightened by terrorists attacks.

In a statement issued by her spokesperson, John Anyaibe, Oboh, not only congratulated the federal government for adopting community policing which is one of the cardinal points in her campaign manifesto but also congratulated it for approving the sum of N13.3b for its implementation.

Speaking, Oboh noted that community policing is a dynamic and proactive approach to policing where trained members of the community become responsible for securing and protecting their own communities. She added that community policing is one the pillars of ADC’s manifesto designed to resolving the high security problems in Edo State and by extension Nigeria.

“ADC is the credible alternative party in Nigeria that is here to stay and make Nigeria a superlative country in years to come. However, the changes that are needed in Nigeria starts with Edo State,” Oboh began, “I am proud that ADC chose me to be its foot soldier in the front line of this fight to restore Edo State, armed with a tight manifesto that will not only heal and change the narrative in the Heart Beat of Nigeria but Nigeria as a whole. My fight to be the governor of Edo State heralds a new dawn for a greater Edo State and Nigeria and for this reason, Edo people must vote ADC to secure a brighter tomorrow.

“The Edo people must make up their mind if they want to continue with the old nonfunctional era that has led the people to its present sorry state, or they vote me in as governor of Edo State and allow ADC to effect true change in the narrative of the Edo story,” Oboh concluded.
