Adefisoye : PDP twisting facts on assassination attempt
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Idanre chapter of Ondo State, on Sunday, has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of making efforts to sweep under carpet, the assassination attempt on Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, a member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.

In a statement signed by Adeboyeku Babatunde, APC Director of Media Campaign Idanre LGA, the ruling party noted that PDP “veered into twisting the truth”, adding that the opposition party also changed the whole narratives on the attack on the lawmaker.

The statement which was titled: “Efforts By Idanre PDP To Cover Up Assassination Attempt On Adefisoye” reads , “Some desperate elements within the Idanre Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been making frantic efforts to change the narrative and to also cover-up the assassination attempt on the life of Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye.

“Aside the desperate push by Idanre PDP to prevent the truth about the assassination attempt from coming to light, the party has lately veered into twisting the truth about few enthusiastic hunters that voluntarily escorted the entourage of Hon. Adefisoye on the day that APC presidential candidate came to Akure for a presidential rally.

“The Idanre chapter of PDP has

ludicrously released a video in which one of the hunters that voluntarily joined the entourage of Hon. Adefisoye to Democracy Park in Akure was seen holding Dane gun.

“The video being given malicious misrepresentation by Idanre PDP

was until recently on the personal Facebook page of Hon. Adefisoye. The Dane gun video ordinarily ought to have been brought down immediately from the federal lawmaker’s Facebook page if there was anything untoward about it.

“More so, it is an incontrovertible fact that registered hunters in Nigeria are permitted by the law to handle Dane gun. The video is also clear enough to show that only one of the enthusiastic hunters was seen holding a Dane gun to herald the movement of Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye.

“Instructively, Hon Tajudeen is a genuine lover of his constituents and he is undoubtedly the best performing House of Representatives member thus far in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency since the return to democratic rule in 1999. It is therefore a norm in our society to have hunters clutching  Dane guns in appreciation of a popular politician like Hon. Adefisoye.

“Truth is always constant and unchanging. The truth of this matter is that Idanre PDP has not spared any resource and effort in its desperate quest to change narrative of the attempted assassination and to also curry undeserved public sympathy.

“We are however, not unaware that these unconscionable characters have since hired spin doctors to cover the truth about the assassination attempt on the life of Hon. Adefisoye. We also know that influencers have likewise been engaged with a clear satanic instruction to blame innocent persons for a crime that was   committed by someone else.

“In the face of all these, we are however, supremely confident that truth of this matter will surely prevail sooner than later. We are also very certain that the victory of Hon. Adefisoye in the February 25, 2023 election will be unprecedentedly overwhelming because of the backing of Almighty God as well as the maximum support of the good people of Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency”.
