According to him, the late senator attended the ceremony in company with about 30 political aides and allies.

Akintola said other guests, who were in Adeleke’s entourage ate, but the deceased did not eat the food they were served.

“Adeleke was served Remmy Martins, but he brought his own Remmy Martins from his vehicle which he drank together with his friends,” he said.

Adeleke died on April 23, 2017, and his family, who suspected foul play in the sudden death, ordered an autopsy at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

Later, Governor Aregbesola ordered an inquest into the death but the family denounced it, describing it as kangaroo and self-serving.
