The Super Eagles playing and coaching staff will depart Abuja by 2.30 pm to Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital, to resume camping ahead of the Africa Nations Cup qualifier clash against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa this weekend.
Media Officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye, who made the disclosure in a chat with Daily Sunsports in Abuja, said, although the camp officially resumed on Sunday, with all the players expected to arrive, there would be no training in Abuja before the team departs for Uyo on Monday.
“I want to confirm to you that the team will leave Abuja to Uyo Monday afternoon. The departure time is 2.30pm. The team will not be training in Abuja because we don’t have such arrangement. Everything about the commencement of the training starts in Uyo, but we are expecting all the players to report to camp from Sunday evening.
“We gave the players break because they sacrificed so much to be in the camp immediately their seasons ended. Many have to go and see their families before converging for the qualifier against Bafana Bafana. They need the break,” he said.
