With top African music artistes billed to perform for the first edition of the Afrobeats Music Festival in Canada next year, organisers of the award have assured that many African music stars will be celebrated at the awards.

African Music Stars are set to converge in Canada for what seems to be a redefining moment as the first-ever Music Afrobeats Festival and Awards.

This is just as they hinted that the event will further put the Afrobeats on the global map.

As music continues to take new turns in Africa and investors coming into the game to play with their resources, Afrobeats music which appears to be the most popular music genre currently dominating the music space even across Europe, the show will also promote the African tune and set the pace for new African stars to emerge.

According to a statement released by one of the brains behind the project, Dami Adenuga, the event will hold in sometime around July next year with a number of activities lined up to add value to the event.

There will be a symposium to appraise the many decades of the Afrobeat trajectory across the globe. This will be followed by a Gala Night as music icons in Africa will be honoured for creating the platform many artistes now enjoy.

The symposium, according to the statement will be declared open by a prominent music icon from the Nigerian music scene while the night will also feature various theatrical performances and music to further showcase the beauty of the African heritage.

The show will climax with a music concert that will feature African stars.

Speaking further about what to expect from the show, Adenuga disclosed that Music in Africa has over the last decade experienced unmatched growth, courtesy of the emergence of diverse promising and talented acts, especially from Africa’s giant, Nigeria which is considered as the epicenter of Afrobeats.

He added that the show will celebrate the success of Afrobeats music and those who have worked hard to ensure that the genre of music became acceptable across the globe.

“We want to celebrate Afrobeats hence the reason we came up with Afrobeats Music Festival. Over the years, afrobeats has witnessed unprecedented growth and one can see the number of artistes that have emerged from the

African scene with acts from Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, South Africa among others.
We will be parading more stars from the black continent come July next year and it will be elevating the podium of the African music industry.
