The Aku Ruo Uno (Think-home) initiative designed to locate substantial investments of the Igbo in the South East is the reason behind the forthcoming Agbaja Peoples Summit in Enugu State.

Organisers of the event slated for November 2 in Enugu, said it would enhance the economy of the South East through networking and mentoring of local entrepreneurs in the zone for the global community.

Chairman of Agbaja Peoples Summit Planning Committee, Ugo Chime, said spreading the think-home message would be the highpoint of the investment summit.

He said the day two programme would entail the display of the rich cultural heritage of Agbaja land, their food, cuisines, and cultural endowments.

“What we are doing is not restricted to Agbaja, we are just starting from there to reach the whole Enugu State, the South East and the rest of Nigeria,” Chime said.  He disclosed that they were looking at having Enugu Development Agenda that is driven by the private sector, noting that Government, with the four-year election cycle, is not the best to drive business process.

He explained that they were working to put in place some sustainable structure that was anchored on the people.

Chime said the summit would also provide a platform to relive the legacies of the heroes of the cultural zone.

“It is a clarion call for our people and beyond to invest at home. It will be a yearly summit. We want to grow young investors by marrying them with established ones for mentorship…Agbaja Leaders of Thought, led by Prof Chinedu Nebo, is doing a lot towards finding a lasting solution to it.”
