Recently Agbara Community in Ado Ota Local Government Area of Ogun state was thrown into mourning following the death of one of the party chieftain identified as Chief Wasiu Shakiru, the Odofin of Agbara land.
It was gathered that the incident occured during the APC Ward1 congress held in the community.
An eyewitness Mr Kupoluji Obente told the media that problem started when the result was announced and bitter argument began among the party faithfuls.
It was further leant that one of the members identified as Wasiu Agunbiade popularly known as Yayi Agbara seized the result sheet from one Wasiu Shakiru. The tussle resulted in fight as Agunbiade allegedly struck him on the chest. The impact of the blow was said to have made Shakiru to slump and died.
Following the death, the suspected killer was said to have fled and went to hiding while police have arrested other members of the party who attended the congress and took them to Eleweeran in the state capital.
Some members of the community who spoke to the media described the late Shakiru as an easy going person. They called for justice to be done through quick prosecution of the suspect and others who had hands in the death of Shakiru addin that this measure will deter others from thuggery and other acts of violence during election in the future.
