Manager of Habibatu Mogaji Market, Agboju, Nonye Ukaegbu, has compensated traders at the burned section of the market with18 months rent-free stay in their shops after reconstruction.
The traders also got N20,000 each to enable them get umbrellas for temporary use while the market is being rebuilt.
The manager  also known as Hajia Ikenga explained that it was necessary to sympathise with the affected traders not just in words but also through practical steps geared towards alleviating their pains.
She added that the gesture of a one-year and six months rent-free stay in their various shops was a way of encouraging the traders whom she said suffered huge losses while helping them to start over again.
The developer of the market, Gilbert Okeke, also said the gesture to support the traders was the little he and the manager of the market could do after the wares of the traders were reduced to rubbles by the inferno.
The affected traders  expressed gratitude and satisfaction with the response of their leader to their plight.
