Amid controversies surrounding the health of President Muhammadu Buhari, his personal assistant on political affairs, Mr Gambo Manzo, on Wednesday said that the president was both physically and mentally fit to rule the country for another four years.

Manzo said this while addressing youths in Taraba State during the inauguration of Taraba State wards Next Level volunteers canvassers.

He said that “the concerns expressed by some persons are testimony of how much the people care about the health and well-being of their president,” but be assured that “there is no cause for worry as the president is both mentally and physically very fit to carry on as he has shown in the rigorous task of campaigning from state to state on a daily basis.”

Manzo urged the youths to eschew violence and take the path of peace as the president is insistent that the election must be peaceful.

“Let me urge you all – and you have to take this message to your respective wards and then units – to ensure that this election remains peaceful.  You must shun all acts that are capable of precipitating crisis and avoid been used as thugs. This is an election and not a war. I am sure that we are all aware of the numerous achievements of this administration in less than four years.  There is still much that is needed to be done and that is why we are calling on you to champion the course of his re-election.”

Over 800 youths from across the state were inaugurated as ward Next Level volunteer canvassers in the state.
