One of the commercial airlines in Nigeria, Air Peace Limited, on Wednesday, inaugurated its maiden commercial flight service to Sokoto, promising on-time departure, uncompromising premium on the safety and comfort of air travelers.

The maiden flight has Boeing 737, 500 series aircraft  which airlifted 136 passengers to the ancient city en route Lagos.

Speaking in Sokoto, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the airline, Barr. Allen Onyema, said the commencement of the flight to Sokoto was with the view to address the challenges of air travel in the area.

His words, “We recognise Sokoto as a very strategic economic and social capital in the north and Nigeria as a whole.

“The inauguration of our Sokoto route, therefore, signifies that Air Peace keen to develop long-lasting relationships with the government and good people of the state with view to addressing the challenges of air travel in the area.

He said the flight services will cover Abuja-Sokoto-Abuja and Lagos-Sokoto-Lagos route daily with the conviction to set a new dawn for air travellers on the route.

He therefore promised an exciting flight experience to its prospective passengers, adding that “We have come to Sokoto to inaugurate on-time departure, uncompromising premium on the safety and comfort of air travellers and affordable flight services.”

In his remarks, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal  of the state said the airline was invited to the state because of its efficiency services in the aviation sector.

The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Bashar Garba promised to partner with the airline to ensure smooth operation in the state.
