Air Peace Airlines has taken delivery of a third Boeing 777-300 aircraft in readiness for the commencement of its international operations.
Chairman/CEO of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema who spoke at a ceremony held at the weekend at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos to welcome the aircraft said it would be deployed on the Lagos – Dubai and Lagos – Sharjar (United Arab Emirates) routes by April, 2019.
Onyema said Air Peace had to purchase three Boeing 777 aircraft in order to have sufficient back-up that would forestall any flight cancellation once it launches into the international market. He said the wide-bodied B777 aircraft had a capacity to carry over 374 passengers and that it was a safe and trustworthy airplane.
According to Onyema, each of the B777 aircraft when put to use will create about 1,500 jobs for Nigerians.
“Those who are out there to look at where I come from to pull me down should first of all look at the thousands of lives am creating jobs for irrespective of where they come from. One of this Boeing 777 aircraft will create 1,500jobs for Nigerians. At present, I have created jobs for over 3,000 Nigerians,” said Onyema.
“Both the government and people of Nigeria have been complaining that there has never been any successful Nigerian airline. This is one airline trying to do something different. All we need at this point in time is the support of everyone – both the government and people of Nigeria,” added Onyema.
