Following the re-election of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Femi Adekanbi, has described the victory as well deserved, while also applauding the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the election in the state.
Speaking on the victory of Akeredolu, the APC chieftain explained that the victory has cemented him as the political leader in the state.
He stated that its quite disheartening to see the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko who is also the godfather of Barr. Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labor Party betray the incumbent Governor which saw him severe a friendship of over 40 years.
According to him,” in a private chat with the former Governor, I persistently begged him and made him see reasons to support Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN in the Guber Polls, it’s rather unfortunate that he chose to pitch his tent with the opposition”
Furthermore he explained that unlike other Governors who will dig into the affairs of their predecessors in a bid to run them down, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN instead towed the peaceful path with the immediate past Governor as he chose to respect the relationship between them while also facing his purr mandate which was advancing the state for the better
Hon. Adekanbi however praised the tenacity and unflinching determination of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN to ensuring that he’s not distracted with this.
He added that the victory of Arakunrin Akeredolu was a testament of his popularity and general acceptance in the state.
