Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) of Ondo State has approved the appointment of a former member of the state’s House of Assembly, Hon Olugbenga Edema, as the Chairman of  Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, the Governor said the appointment became imperative to ensure the development of the state.

Other members of the commission appointed by Akeredolu included Dr. Victor Koledoye (Secretary), Mrs. M. Witherspoon, Mr. Olumide Ikuepenikan and Mr. Ikoto Agabra Atili.

Others are Chief Ilawole, Mr. Igbekele Akinrinwa and Mr. Bankole Gabriel Ogbesetoro.

The statement explained that OSOPADEC is an intervention agency created by an act of the Ondo State parliament to mitigate the effect of oil exploration within the Oil Producing communities in the state.

According tot eh statement, the appointments takes immediate effect.

The Governor charged the new appointees to make good use of their offices to facilitate the development of the state.
