Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode will flag off the Lagos Lawn Tennis  2016 Walk For Life sporting  event billed for Saturday May 21, 2016.
The event sponsored by  Sterling Bank Plc, is  expected to attract about 300 sports enthusiasts from all walks of life and will also witness the unveiling of the new world class gym donated by Alhaji. Aliu Salaudeen for Aerobics and physical fitness.
Chairman of the planning committee for the occasion, Bala Yesufu disclosed that  other recreation and sports clubs such as Ikoyi Club, Yoruba Tennis Club , Police Officers Mess, Sports Arcade, VGC Tennis Club amongst others will participate in the 15km walk.
According to Yesufu,  the take off point  is Lagos Lawn Tennis Club car park,  with the routes running from Outer Marina, Bony Camp, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Law School to Interchange bridge on Awolowo Road  and back to LLTC.
In his remarks, the Group Head, Strategy and Communications of Sterling Bank Plc, Mr. Shina Atilola emphasized that as a corporate responsible organization committed to enriching lives, the backing of the financial institution has indeed demonstrated its commitment to programmes that would have positive impact on the generality of Nigerians.
Mr. Atilola who disclosed that the Bank is already coming up with a very strong health desk that would address health related issues across the value chain also assured that Sterling Bank will continue to sustain its long standing relationship with the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club especially in the areas of providing good health through sport.
The Vice president of the club, Mr Gbenga Lafadeju who represented the President reiterated the club’s commitment to promoting friendship through recreation with emphasis on the importance of Work-life balance. He mentioned that the club held the first edition of the walk in 2015 and is institutionalizing the walk as part of its annual programmes.
