The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has stated that those contesting against her in the senatorial race are no match for her in terms of projects and developmental impact in the Senatorial District.

Ekwunife who made the statement during her recent visit to Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka local government area told the people of the community to compare her projects in the community with that of their son who is also in the race, and has spent over seven years in the National Assembly.

The federal lawmaker who is running on her sterling record of performance challenged her opponents who she noted have had opportunities to occupy public office to bring forward their record of achievements for the people to compare and contrast.

“I want them to match me project to project, empowerment to empowerment, and not boast of how much money they have. If after your comparison and your son attracted 1/3 of what I attracted to this community, then vote for him”, the ranking Senator told the people of the community.

The Senator better known as Madam Project went further to state that she ranks 3rd amongst the Senator’s with the highest number of bills and motions, challenging her opponents to show the impact of their contributions in the National Assembly.

“When I spoke on the non-inclusion of an Igbo man on the board of the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), the Senate mandated the federal government to reconstitute the NCC board and an Igbo man was appointed into the board. It is on record that I moved a motion on the erosion menace ravaging Anambra Central communities and consequently brought the Senate committee on works to investigate the challenge, and during this time the Nkpor flyover axis of the Enugu/Onitsha expressway which was ravaged by erosion was repaired.”, Ekwunife said.

The Chairman Senate committee on Science, Technology and Innovation further stated that one of her opponents went to the National Assembly to play in the gallery.

“You do not move and go to sleep. When a Senator moves a motion, his or her ability to follow up the motion and ensure that proper and befitting action is taken is the true test of the lawmaker’s capacity”, the quintessential lawmaker concluded.

Senator Ekwunife before embarking on her tour of the community, paid a visit to the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, HRM Igwe Ralph Ekpeh to seek his royal blessings.
