A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Mazi Chidi Orjika has called on party delegates to be wary of the actions of those he describes as ‘party ticket buyers’ who he said are determined to use money and influence to hijack the ticket of the party.
Affirming the determination of the party to resist such, he called on the party to ensure that the delegates’ list is secure and kept away, while urging the party to allow a level playing field for all aspirants for the contest.
Orjika who identified himself as a supporter of Dr. Tony Nwoye who is also aspirant said he(Nwoye) pledged not to tamper with either the party structure or delegates’ list.
He said: “Delegates must not be denied their rights to freely elect the party’s standard bearer. We call the leadership of the party to ensure that the delegates’ list is not tampered with and to provide an open, free and fair playing ground for all the aspirants to test their might and popularity.”
