Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Chief Norbert Obi, has predicted victory for Governor Willie Obiano in the November gubernatorial polls in the state.
Obi, while making a presentation, on Wednesday, during the face-to-face interaction with members of a group, the Anambra Consensus Project, said that Governor Obiano has done well in service delivery and will be returned into office for a second tenure by the Anambra electorates.
He said that though APGA has no anointed candidate for the coming polls, the party is set for its primaries and also knows where it is going. He dismissed insinuations of factions in APGA and described those fanning the embers of discord in the party as ‘opportunists’ who wants to reap where they did not sow
The APGA chieftain also predicted food sufficiency in Anambra by 2018 going by what he called the agricultural revolution going on in Anambra through the massive cultivation of rice, vegetables and tomatoes in Ayamelum and Omombala areas of the state.
He also reasoned that the Anambra North Zone should be allowed to complete eight years before power rotates to the zone and also declared that the “prodigals” fighting the party presently will be welcomed back if they repent.
“Our people believe in APGA government and they will translate that support into votes for Obiano. Elections are won at the polling unit level and the elders, men and women including the youths know where we are going so APGA will carry the day” he said.
Earlier, President of Anambra Consensus Project, Dr. Emeka Eze said the group will continue to play prominent role in deepening the democratic and political process in Anambra towards maintaining high level of good governance in the state.
